My name is George. I am a teacher. In my country, being a teacher is not something to be proud of. Well, what I mean is that it is not necessarily something that parents will push their children to become.
In my country, being a teacher rhymes with having late salaries. Some teachers still wait for months before they receive their salary. These are from the public schools. They actually earn more than the private school teachers. I am a private school teacher. I did not experience late salaries. Not from all the schools I worked with.
Still, in my country, teaching is not something noble. Well, it might be theoretically, as they taught us in Professional Education. Like when they say the teachers are the ones who will be most happy in heaven and all.
But, you know, when you hear of teachers getting those meager salaries ... while guarding the election... it makes you very angry.

One time, I heard of teachers in the US complaining that their salary allows them to have food stamps in some states. Actually, they are talking about a salary that is more than ten times the salary that our teachers are getting.
But money? It is not all that there is in teaching.
Teaching is about love.
